Jason Gordon

Jason Gordon leads communications and policy strategy for the Writers Guild of America East, a union of 7,500 members working in film, television, news, podcasts and online media. His policy work includes passing legislation to enhance state film tax incentives, expanding opportunities for underrepresented people in the media and entertainment industries, fighting mergers and consolidation, and creating legal guardrails to protect jobs from the threat of artificial intelligence. He helped galvanize national attention to the 148-day writers' strike and led the media campaign that helped drive the successful organizing of online media and podcast workers. Gordon is a member of the WGAE AI Task Force and serves as a Vice President for the International Labor Communication Association (ILCA). Prior to his work in the labor movement, he was the publicist for President Barack Obama’s book, Dreams from My Father, the Internet Week New York tech conference, and the non-profit organization Lifebeat: Music Fights HIV/AIDS.
